Setelah dikabarkan sebelumnya Oppo akan merilis produk baru dengan tajuk Oppo A37, kini Oppo benar-benar merealisasikannya. Dengan menyandang predikat yang sama dengan Oppo F1 dan Oppo F1 Plus sebagai camera phone, Oppo A37 dihadirkan untuk menggaet konsumen kelas menengah yang memiliki hobi foto selfie. Sebagai nilai tambah, Oppo membalut smartphone ini dengan material metal yang menawan dan mewah. Pada sektor layar, smartphone Oppo A37 mengandalkan layar dengan panel IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen yang mampu menyajikan tampilan layar dengan resolusi layar 5 inci beresolusi 720 x 1280 pixels dan memiliki tingkat kerapatan layar ~294 ppi pixel density. Oppo juga membekali layar smartphone ini dengan pelindung layar Gorilla Glass 4.
Untuk memacu performanya, Oppo A37 ditenagai processor Quad-core 1.2 GHz Cortex-A53 yang dipadukan dengan chipset Snapdragon 410. Untuk menyokong kinerja dapur pacunya, Oppo juga menyematkan GPU Adreno 306 dan RAM 2 GB. Untuk fasilitas penyimpanan, disediakan memori internal berkapasitas 16 GB yang dapat diperluas dengan memori eksternal berupa microSD berkapasitas maksimal 128 GB.
Untuk mengabadikan moment penting, Oppo hanya menyematkan kamera utama dengan resolusi 8 MP. Tetapi pada bagian depan, Oppo menaruh kamera sekunder dengan resolusi 5 MP untuk berfoto selfie atau video call.
